Duties & Responsibilities

The Training Coordinator – ICT Security Accreditation will support NATO’s Cyber Readiness Section by designing, coordinating, and delivering learning solutions that improve the efficiency and maturity of NATO’s ICT Security Accreditation processes.

Key responsibilities include:

Training Strategy & Learning Coordination

  • Develop and coordinate an ICT Security Accreditation training framework supporting multiple stakeholder groups involved in NATO accreditation processes.

  • Conduct learning needs assessments and stakeholder analysis to identify knowledge gaps, training priorities, and competency requirements.

  • Define role-based learning pathways for different accreditation personas, including Application/Product Owners, Suppliers, NATO Project Managers, Procurement Agents, Legal Agents, Security Accreditation Authorities (SAAs), and NCIA accreditation teams.

  • Coordinate with NATO Education & Training Facilities, including NCI Academy, to align training solutions with NATO learning management capabilities.

  • Track training adoption, proficiency levels, and learning effectiveness through measurable indicators.

Documentation Management & Knowledge Repository Development

  • Perform an audit and consolidation of existing ICT Security Accreditation documentation, templates, procedures, and guidance materials.

  • Map accreditation documentation to process stages, stakeholder responsibilities, decision points, and approval workflows.

  • Identify documentation gaps, duplication, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Design and develop a searchable Wiki-style knowledge repository within Microsoft SharePoint.

  • Create structured content templates, navigation pathways, metadata standards, and document linking mechanisms.

  • Support migration, formatting, and lifecycle management of accreditation documentation.

Instructional Design & Training Content Development

  • Design and develop persona-specific learning materials using modern instructional design methodologies.

  • Create self-paced e-learning modules, micro-learning content, video briefings, interactive scenarios, assessments, and quick-reference guides.

  • Develop training materials explaining accreditation processes, stakeholder responsibilities, workflow hand-offs, and common process challenges.

  • Ensure training content is suitable for both remote learning and future instructor-led delivery.

  • Integrate training resources with NATO Learning Management Systems (LMS).

LMS & Digital Learning Integration

  • Support deployment of learning content into NATO LMS platforms.

  • Configure learning pathways, prerequisites, assessments, and reporting mechanisms.

  • Establish connections between SharePoint knowledge repositories and LMS learning journeys.

  • Support proficiency tracking and training performance reporting.

Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination

  • Collaborate with NATO Security Accreditation Authorities, NCIA Accreditation Teams, Cyber Readiness stakeholders, and Learning & Development communities.

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with technical, operational, and policy stakeholders.

  • Translate complex cybersecurity and accreditation concepts into accessible learning materials.

  • Provide progress updates, documentation, and recommendations to NATO leadership.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all training and documentation deliverables comply with NATO standards, templates, governance requirements, and security regulations.

  • Perform quality reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability of learning products.

  • Recommend improvements to increase accreditation process efficiency and reduce approval cycle times.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • University degree in one of the following areas:

    • Education

    • Instructional Design

    • Cybersecurity

    • Business Economics

    • Digital Transformation

    • Systems Design

    • Equivalent relevant discipline

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in:

    • Learning systems architecture and digital transformation initiatives.

    • Instructional design, learning development, and rapid prototyping.

    • Designing learning solutions within defence, government, NATO, or highly regulated environments.

  • Demonstrated experience developing compliance-focused training solutions with strong governance and audit requirements.

  • Experience supporting Learning & Development activities in large international organisations or complex enterprise environments.

  • Experience analysing business processes and translating operational requirements into learning solutions.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including:

    • Microsoft Word

    • Excel

    • PowerPoint

    • Teams

    • Outlook

  • Demonstrated expertise in:

    • Microsoft SharePoint architecture, administration, and content management.

    • Digital knowledge repositories and Wiki-style platforms.

    • Learning Management System (LMS) integration and administration.

  • Experience with LMS platforms such as:

    • Rhapsode

    • Moodle

    • Equivalent enterprise learning platforms

Security Requirements

  • Active NATO SECRET security clearance at the time of proposal submission.

  • Ability to work within NATO secure environments and comply with NATO security and confidentiality requirements.

  • Willingness to sign NATO Non-Disclosure Agreement requirements.

Communication & Soft Skills

  • Fluent/native English proficiency with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to engage effectively with:

    • NIST-based cybersecurity frameworks.

    • Conversational UX design.

    • AI governance frameworks.

    • Collaboration with academic or research institutions on digital transformation initiatives.
