Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform system administration for NU, NR, and NS CIS systems
- Troubleshoot server, client hardware, and software issues
- Maintain and update VMware virtual environments
- Manage and implement Active Directory and Group Policy changes
- Maintain and optimize Windows & Linux system configurations and security policies
- Install, test, and deploy software updates and patches
- Develop and execute PowerShell scripts for automation
- Support incident and problem management, ensuring proper documentation
- Maintain physical server infrastructure in the data center
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide updates and follow-ups via ITSM service desk tools
- Collaborate with internal teams to support operational requirements
- Support physical tasks (e.g. handling equipment up to 25 lbs)
- Deputize for senior staff when required
Education Requirements
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years experience, OR
- Secondary education with 4 years relevant experience
- (Desirable) Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Information Systems, or related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in enterprise IT/system administration
- Experience with:
- Windows & Linux operating systems
- Active Directory & Group Policy management
- Virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware)
- Storage Area Networks (SANs)
- Backup and recovery systems
- Scripting (PowerShell or similar)
- System management tools (e.g. Microsoft Configuration Manager)
- Experience with ITIL Problem Management processes
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Desirable Certifications
- ITIL certification (especially Change Management / Configuration Management)
- Certifications in:
- Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, AD, Azure)
- Virtualization (VMware)
- Linux administration
- Cybersecurity
- Other relevant CIS / infrastructure certifications from recognized bodies
Work Conditions
- Location: Norfolk, Virginia, USA
- Work setup: 100% on-site
- Contract duration: May 2026 – December 2026 (~836 hours)
- Environment: Standard office/data center environment
- Physical requirement: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Language: Fluent English (written and spoken)
- Security Clearance: Active NATO Secret (mandatory)
