Senior Project Manager

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Project Management

  • Lead and deliver projects from initiation to closure
  • Define project approach, plans, and methodologies
  • Manage scope, risks, issues, and change control
  • Ensure delivery within budget, timeline, and quality standards
  • Monitor performance and take corrective action when needed
  • Provide accurate and regular project status reporting
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams

2. Stakeholder Management

  • Identify stakeholder needs and communication requirements
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans
  • Act as the single point of contact for stakeholders
  • Facilitate communication and decision-making processes
  • Provide feedback and ensure alignment between business and technical teams

3. Change Management

  • Manage and implement changes to project scope and requirements
  • Assess impact of changes and advise stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with change management policies

4. Contract Management

  • Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations
  • Use KPIs to assess delivery and identify improvements
  • Address underperformance and ensure compliance
  • Coordinate with contracting officers on procurement matters

5. Additional Responsibilities

  • Support higher-level project managers when required
  • Contribute to proposals and requirements definition
  • Promote best practices, tools, and standards
  • Share knowledge and mentor team members
  • Ensure security, privacy, and ethical standards are applied
  • Deputise for higher-grade staff when needed

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree 3 years experience, OR
  • 10 years relevant experience (in lieu of degree)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years recent experience managing projects in large organizations
  • Experience with:
    • Project planning, budgeting, and resource management
    • Project management tools
    • Leading cross-functional and international teams
  • Strong background in project administration and delivery

Certifications

  • Required (or equivalent experience):
    • PRINCE2 or PMP

Desirable Experience

  • C4ISR project environment
  • ServiceNow (SNOW) or similar tools
  • NATO acquisition and procurement processes
  • Experience in international (military & civilian) environments
  • Knowledge of NATO structure (ACO, ACT)

Work Conditions

  • Location: Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium
  • On-site: 100%
  • Duration: 21 May – 30 December 2026
  • Total hours: 836
  • Travel:
    • 1–2 trips/month within Belgium
    • Additional travel to NATO and international operational sites
  • Environment: Office-based with travel
  • Security clearance: NATO Secret
  • Grade: NATO G17
