Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Database Administration

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database systems
  • Manage backups and recovery processes
  • Support both on-premises and cloud-based RDBMS platforms

2. Data Engineering & Integration

  • Design and maintain data pipelines for collection, transformation, and integration
  • Work across multiple database platforms and environments
  • Ensure efficient and reliable data flow

3. Reporting & Monitoring

  • Develop and maintain dashboards using:
    • Power BI
    • Grafana
    • SSRS
  • Produce dynamic reports and templates for:
    • Performance monitoring
    • Configuration management
    • Lifecycle tracking

4. Automation

  • Implement automation tools and scripts for:
    • Database administration tasks
    • Data extraction and reporting
  • Develop scripts using:
    • PowerShell
    • T-SQL
    • Python

5. Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish and enforce data governance standards
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance
  • Implement secure data handling practices (access control, encryption, auditing)

6. Reliability & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions
  • Monitor database performance and optimize systems
  • Stay updated on database technologies and improve lifecycle management

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and other RDBMS
  • Experience with cloud database platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of:
    • Power BI, SSRS, SSIS
    • Grafana (preferred)
  • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, T-SQL, Python)
